"Hi! I'm Anika, and I recently graduated from Northwestern University with a major in psychology and a minor in economics. During college, I interned at a therapeutic preschool in Chicago, which taught me how to work with students with special needs, and also fueled my desire to teach. I went on to teach transitional-kindergarten at a community prep charter school last year, focused on teaching literacy to students, many of whom came in as English Learners. In order to ease the transition to school for the first time, I spoke in Spanish to my students and their families, making me confident in speaking, writing, and reading Spanish.

Now, I am continuing my journey in education by taking a course in Early Childhood Development to get my teaching certification. Additionally, I am tutoring students of all ages because I love teaching so much. I enjoy teaching different subjects, especially math, Spanish, and writing, whether that be for history, english, or any other class. My psychology major included extensive writing and critical-thinking, and my economics minor was heavily math-based.
