"Hello! My name is Amy and I'm from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the United States. I am a TEFL Certified English Tutor with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Psychology, as well as a Certification in Legal Assistant Studies. I have been teaching English as a Foreign (or Second) Language since 2017. I have experience teaching both online and in person, private and group lessons for adults and children as well as for adults at a private language school. I have also substituted at a public school for grades K - 8. Before teaching, I was a Human Resource Manager where training was part of my duties. I conducting orientations, seminars and trained new employees. I worked as an English tutor during my high school and university years. I've always taught in some capacity. While working during my university years, I taught make-up artistry, as well as weight lifting and nutritional counseling as a personal trainer. Fitness, healthy cooking and baking are my hobbies.

No matter what I am teaching or instructing, my goal has always been simple, to make learning a fun and enjoyable experience with a lot of laughter! I would help my fellow students in elementary, middle and high school who had difficulties in English class. I also have a legal assistant studies certification, which was very useful when I was a Human Resource Manager, as I dealt with employment, labor and immigration laws. I enjoy helping people learn. In my classroom I want people to feel relaxed. I am also a language learner, so I know how intimidating it can be, but mistakes are OK. Actually, mistakes are part of the process!
