"Hello! My name is Nicholas, and I’m an English educator with ten years of classroom teaching experience and a decade of tutoring expertise. Currently, I teach middle school English Language Arts, where I help students build confidence and skill in linguistic and communication areas. My students have ranged from 6th grade to post graduate, and even some adult learners. Hundreds of my students have succeeded in college applications/essays, obtained scholarships, finished projects, and graduated. I hold a Bachelors degree in English from Texas State University, Masters Degree from Liberty University, and certifications in English/Language Arts 4-12, and English as a Second Language 7-12. My academic background and classroom experience allow me to design lessons that meet each student’s unique needs and learning style. I've found the most effective to students is to take an initial meeting to fully understand my student's needs and current aptitude, set specific and measurable goals, then mark progress periodically. Within sessions, an inquiry based approach along with habitual and experiential practice is most productive.

I specialize in grammar and writing mechanics, reading comprehension/analysis, essay organization and structuring, proofreading, and study/organizational strategies. My teaching philosophy centers on bridging the gap between where students are and where they envision being. I believe in personalized, goal-oriented instruction that develops not just English skills, but lifelong confidence.
