"Hello! I’m Dr. Michele Josey. I started my career teaching high school math, teaching everything from Algebra to Calculus, and later taught Biostatistics to college students at North Carolina Central University. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Mathematics Education, where I received a license to teach high school math, a Master’s in Statistics, and a PhD in Epidemiology, which involves studying patterns of health and disease.

I have over 10 years of tutoring experience, helping students both in and outside of my classroom. My approach to teaching is tailored to fit how each student learns best. I use a combination of straightforward teaching for the basics, conversations to deepen understanding, and practical projects that show how math and statistics work in the real world.

My goal in tutoring is to make challenging subjects easier to understand and interesting. I break down tough topics into smaller, understandable parts and use examples from everyday life to make the lessons relatable. I always aim to create a friendly and supportive space where students can ask questions and share their thoughts without hesitation. I’m dedicated to not just helping students do better in class, but also building their confidence in their ability to learn and tackle new challenges.
