"I excel at working with students who need support in foundational skills. I have a current teaching license in Tennessee Schools K-12. My 23 years in tutoring and classroom instruction enable me to identify skill gaps. Then, I create lesson plans that focus on strengthening students’ needs in Spelling, Phonics, Reading, Writing, or Math. Lessons incorporate the student's hobbies and strengths to help encourage interest during learning.

Why choose me to work with your student? My teaching experience spans elementary through 12th grade. It includes individual instruction, public school, private school, and small group settings. I also served on a research team at Vanderbilt Peabody College; at Peabody I helped with measuring the efficacy of a new reading intervention program. Over time, I have developed skills to help students whose needs are not fully met in the classroom. In October 2024, I became Orton-Gillingham (OG) certified; this training helps me support students who may have a neurological learning challenge.
