"I have an earned Ph.D. in philosophy (University of Miami, 1996) with professional publications in _Synthese_, _Journal of Medical Ethics_, _Faith and Philosophy_, and other journals. I have over thirty years’ experience teaching philosophy.

I was a graduate student in mathematics at the University of Alabama, where I taught sections in College Algebra (including trigonometry taught from the unit circle).

Verbal aptitude: I scored 99th percentile on the Miller Analogies Test and 98th percentile on the verbal section of the Graduate Record Exam.

Math aptitude: I scored a perfect 800 on the quantitative section of the Graduate Record Exam and 98th percentile on the analytic section.

I have two years’ experience successfully tutoring in SAT and ACT test prep.

I am married and have two grown daughters, both graduates of Georgia Institute of Technology (_cum laude_ and _summa cum laude_).

I believe learning should be an adventure. However, I teach constructively, beginning with what the student already knows, so the adventure is fun and builds the student’s confidence.
