"I’ve loved economics since my very first microeconomics course but I realize not everyone feels the same. Since that first course, I’ve gone on to get a Master’s degree in economics and both my understanding and appreciation of economics has grown. Today I teach to share that love and to help others understand and appreciate economics.

I hold a Master's of Economics from Portland State University and a Master's of Petroleum Engineering from Stanford University. I also completed my PhD coursework in Economics and passed my general exams at the University of Washington.

My professional background includes over 15 years of classroom and online university-level teaching experience. This is combined with 8 years of industry experience. This unique background means I understand both how economics works in the real world and how to teach that to others.

There are three main components to economics -- the mathematics, the graphs, and the intuition. While the mathematics and the graphs are interesting, I believe the intuition is the most important. Grasping the intuition of economics will help build a solid foundation for understanding the other components.

Whether it is macroeconomics, microeconomics or econometrics you don’t have to struggle alone! Economics can be straight forward, once you learn the language and the intuition.
