"Since 2021, I have conducted private tutoring in the following subjects: AP biology, honors biology, microbiology (for both nursing students and microbiology majors), molecular biology, biochemistry, MCAT biological sciences and GRE. Tutoring allows me to effectively address students' needs and customize both content delivery and pace of instruction. Regardless of whether I am in the classroom or tutoring students privately, I enjoy seeing learners overcome obstacles and succeed in their endeavors. My tutoring methods feature active-learning techniques that allow learners to better grasp the material and become more engaged. For example, instead of purely lecturing about mitosis, I utilize student-tutor discussions, online quizzes/activities, visual aids, and sometimes scientific journals to supplement my descriptive explanations of the subject material.

I have experience teaching and tutoring a diverse array of learners, but I work most effectively with college undergraduates, graduate students and adult learners. As a full-time university instructor and lab coordinator, I taught various lecture and/or laboratory courses in general biology, medical microbiology for nursing students, and molecular biology at the University of Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio. In the process, I received excellent student evaluations, and I earned a promotion to assistant professor in January 2021. I also served as an academic advisor to several undergraduates completing the pre-medicine and pre-physician assistant studies academic tracks.
