"I’m Nadia, a 2003 graduate of the College of Charleston with a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Communication with a concentration in Media Studies. In college, I excelled in public speaking, oral interpretation, creative writing as a straight A student. Since the time of my primary education, I began competing in & winning spelling bees, writing, & oratory contests. I was selected for the English honors track from middle through high school, later being inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. On my educational journey, I’ve learned from the most incredibly gifted educators who were always engaging and comprehensible when teaching the material in the classroom; they were willing to go the extra mile when I asked for additional help or clarification. I find that approach very inspiring and beneficial to the learning process and I enjoy implementing that same methodology to my tutoring approach. I am indeed committed to doing everything I can to make learning a pleasant experience. I endeavor to introduce topics in a fun and creative way, then dissect the material in deliberately fundamental way. Afterwards I will ensure time for students to practice the material on their own.
I was a lead teacher for an afterschool program for elementary & middle schoolers for 3 years where I assisted students w/homework in various subjects as well as taught them introductory level Spanish. I have traveled to both Jamaica and Thailand to mentor youth ages 12-18, teaching English. I have worked directly with college students & adults who need assistance in paper writing & prep for public speeches for countless years. My intention is to work for the highest benefit of the students I work with, therefore, I welcome any resources/suggestions that students or parents can provide. I am readily accessible and will always do my best to respond in a timely manner. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson!" less...
