"I started tutoring in 2012 after connecting with students through my mom who taught 2nd grade. As time passed, I found a great passion for teaching one-on-one and was able to help my students exceed all expectations and find success in their areas of difficulty. I discovered a particular talent for explaining difficult concepts in new ways to make them accessible and fun—I also thoroughly enjoyed it. I continued tutoring for throughout high school and college, largely connecting with students through personal recommendations from my students and their teachers.
In 2020, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies and a minor in English which included literature, technical and business writing, and editing courses, which has further prepared me to tutor all age levels in a range of subjects.
Over the years, I have taught math, English/reading, and science at various levels Kindergarten through college levels. All the students I have worked with experienced learning differences, including ADD, ADHD, and Dyslexia diagnoses. Because of this, I have developed strategies to present information in the style that best fits each individual student or small group of students. My main objectives when working with any student are to help them reach their learning goals while ensuring that our sessions never feel like a chore. Because of the nature of private tutoring I am able to fully tailor my approach to each student and find what works best for them.
I am not specialized for high-level math and sciences or graduate level test prep, but I would love to help with any subject K-12 and English Language subjects through the graduate level." less...
