Hello, I'm Phillip! I graduated with High Honors and achieved a Masters Degree in Education with an emphasis in Diverse Learning. I have over 10 years experience tutoring and teaching Middle and High School scholars. One year I even taught Pre-K! While on the weekdays I teach ESOL and special needs, I also excel as a Middle School teacher in Math and Spanish as well as English. Currently I am helping Spanish students in Math and English. I know that learning another language or a subject like Math can be challenging, but I believe we learn best by making mistakes and by not giving up.

It’s also true that the professor makes a great difference in the learning experience. I believe that teaching and learning should be engaging and comprehensible and we should be willing to go the extra mile. I try to bring this knowledge to my tutoring approach, and do everything I can to make learning a pleasant experience. I use lesson plans in which I usually introduce the topic in a fun and realistic way with pictures or by example, then teach the material with room for open questions or comments. Afterwards, I always ensure time for students to practice the material on their own with guidance. Of course, this method can be adjusted based on the subject and your individual needs.
