"I am an junior undergraduate student at Texas A&M university pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. Additionally, in my time in high school, I spent years studying the SAT as well as general grammar, sentence structure, and essay writing, which allowed me to raise my SAT from 1100 on my first attempt to 1500. I have also passed the GRE exam for a graduate program I wished to enroll in. In my time at Texas A&M, I have participated in a tutoring organization (O.R. Simpson Honor Society) as part of the Corps of Cadets. In this organization, I have spent time tutoring fellow students in lower-level undergraduate engineering classes, ranging from Calculus to Physics to Computer Science. My method of approach in these sessions is to outline the basis of what the student needs help in, what the student understands about the topic already, and to create a step-by-step plan with the student of how to learn the concepts with their own learning style.

My tutoring experience has all been one-on-one sessions, with the demographics of my students being freshmen and sophomores in the engineering program here at Texas A&M. In this time, I have incorporated a process that I learned in my time in the Boy Scouts known as the EDGE method (Explain, Demonstrate, Guide, Enable). This process allows for students to grasp concepts first and foremost, and encourages them to slowly become comfortable working the problems or topics on their own." less...
