"I attended Sam Houston State University and graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a minor in EC-6. I have taught for 10 years in Conroe ISD. I taught 1st and 4th self contained, 5th grade ELA, and I am currently in my favorite grade and subject: 4th grade Reading Language Arts! I am Science of Teaching and Reading Academy certified.

Reading, writing, and grammar are what I specialize in, but students are my real passion. Helping students grow, learn, gain confidence, and take ownership over their own learning are always my goals as we work through curriculum. I learned so much about reading skills by completing Reading Academy and teaching 1st graders how to read. I am able to use these skills to fill gaps with older students. I also LOVE to integrate reading, writing, and grammar lessons. Every tutoring session is a lesson in these, no matter what we are working on.

As well as teaching in the classroom, I have always tutored after school and on the weekends. I love being able to work one on one with students and offer accommodations they may need to be successful, help them complete work, internalize material, feel confident in their effort, or teach a hard concept in a different way for them." less...
