"Hi! My name is Emma, and I'm currently a senior student at Dartmouth College majoring in Biological Anthropology. I've always loved working with kids and helping them grow, whether it's tackling tricky math problems, exploring science, or just figuring out how to stay organized with schoolwork. I've spent a lot of time tutoring my younger sister over the years in everything from fractions to book reports, which I believe is where my passion for teaching started. Additionally, as a college student, I'm constantly proofreading papers which has helped me develop a strong eye for writing and communication.
What truly drives me, though, is the love of learning— and I've been lucky to be surrounded by amazing professors who make complex topics exciting and approachable. Their teaching has inspired me to pursue a career in academia myself someday, and I hope to become a professor that shares that same spark of curiosity and understanding with future students.
Right now, I'm offering tutoring for elementary and middle school students in just about any subject— math, science, reading, writing, social studies— whatever your child needs! I believe that learning doesn't have to be frustrating or boring. My goal is to make school feel a little less overwhelming and maybe even fun!
As a student myself, I understand how important it is to feel supported and encouraged, especially when things get confusing. I aim to bring patience, positive energy, and a little fun to each session. Everyone learns differently, and I enjoy figuring out what works best for each student so they can feel confident and successful.
If you're looking for someone who's approachable, reliable, and cares about helping your child succeed, I'd love to work with your family. Send me a message and let's figure things out together!" less...
