"My name is Julius P, and I am currently pursuing an accounting degree while competing in track at Corban University, a private Christian four-year institution in Salem, OR. I am set to graduate in May 2027, and upon completion of my degree, I plan to sit for the CPA exam and enter the public accounting field, where I aim to build a successful career in financial services.
Before beginning my college journey, I attended Regis High School in Stayton, OR, where I was actively involved in both academics and athletics as a basketball and track athlete. While I thoroughly enjoyed my time competing in sports, one of my most rewarding experiences was serving as a student teacher. I had the opportunity to teach elementary and middle school students my favorite subject—math—which ignited my passion for helping others develop confidence in their mathematical abilities. Through this experience, I learned how to connect with students on a relational level, adapting my teaching methods to suit different learning styles and fostering an environment where students felt encouraged and motivated. This opportunity not only strengthened my teaching skills but also reinforced my appreciation for the impact that strong mentorship and guidance can have on a student’s academic growth.
Academically, I have always been committed to excellence. Throughout both high school and college, I have maintained a 4.0 GPA every semester, demonstrating my dedication to learning and my ability to manage time effectively. Balancing a rigorous academic schedule alongside my responsibilities as a student-athlete has taught me discipline, perseverance, and the importance of setting and achieving goals.
Looking ahead, I am excited to continue growing both academically and professionally. Whether it’s through my future career in accounting or by continuing to support students in their mathematical learning, I hope to make a meaningful impact in everything I pursue." less...
