I earned my bachelor's degree in Psychology and Early Childhood Education from Tulane University, and master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Purdue University. I held a teaching license during my teaching career and earned a National Board Certification. My academic preparation has given me a solid foundation in both subject matter and effective instructional strategies, allowing me to adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs.

I was a teacher and tutoring for 11 years, working with students ranging in age from 5 - 10 years old. My experience includes classroom teaching, small group instruction, and one-on-one tutoring, where I supported students in subjects such as math, reading, writing, and science. I incorporate systematic phonics instruction to support reading and comprehension as well as problem-based learning in math. I focus on using clear explanations, guided practice, and positive reinforcement to help students grasp challenging concepts and stay motivated. I believe in meeting students where they are and building skills step by step to encourage long-term success.
