"I've been a math professor for over 20 years, and I love showing students how fun math can be. I've worked with students and teachers at all grade levels, from elementary school to college, and I love sharing my passion and excitement for logic and mathematical thinking and proofs with others. I was a math major and physics minor in college. I then went to Brown University for a PhD in algebraic number theory. I've been at Williams College ever since, and I founded and direct PZ Math Camp, a summer camp for high school math students.
I've met many people who don't think of themselves as skilled in math, and I love changing their minds. Math is about so much more than numbers and computation. It's not about memorization. It's a language to describe the patterns, logic, and symmetry that exist in the everyday world around us.
