I earned my bachelor's degree and graduated cum laude with a triple-major in English Writing, Russian Language, and Political Science at the University of Pittsburgh. I also completed a Certificate in Russian and East European Studies.

I have tutored students in English, music, and boxing; conversely, I’ve been tutored in music, chess, and even strategy video games.

My love for learning comes from a passion for redefining possibilities. Have you ever said to yourself, "I'm not a good writer"? Maybe you're an Engineering student suffering through a Gen. Ed. course in literary criticism and find yourself saying, "This makes no sense."

These mental parameters serve as a means of reinforcing habit. Upon reaching adulthood, we have a good idea of what we like and don't like; what we believe our strengths are and what they aren’t. In order to learn, we must continually tear down preconceptions and self-imposed limitations. For this, you may consider me your figurative sledgehammer.

I believe in crafting lessons to the student’s individual needs as well as their interests. For example, a student may be much more interested in cars than in physics. Naturally, a good teacher will then strive to teach physics to the student using the design and motion of vehicles. I strive to employ this approach wherever possible.

I’m accomplished in both the academic and professional fields, winning several competitions and other honors for my work at university, and subsequently utilizing my writing, editing, and argumentative skills advocating for telecommunications policy reform in the 12 years since graduation.

Furthermore, I’ve successfully tutored three international students in preparation for the GRE and TOEFL exams.
