"Hi students and families! My name is Sydney, and I’m excited to introduce myself as a tutor specializing in reading, phonics, writing, math, and special education. I hold a B.S.Ed. in Childhood and Special Education from SUNY Geneseo and an M.S.Ed. in Childhood Literacy from the University at Albany. I’m certified in elementary education, early childhood education, special education, and as a literacy specialist. With over five years of teaching and tutoring experience, I bring both strong academic training and hands-on expertise to support a wide range of learners.

Over the years, I’ve worked in public and charter school settings as well as tutoring centers, teaching students from Pre-K through 5th grade. I’ve focused on helping students build foundational skills in core subjects and provided targeted academic and literacy interventions to close learning gaps and support progress toward grade-level goals. Whether working one-on-one or in small groups, I aim to create a supportive, engaging, and personalized learning experience tailored to each student’s unique needs.

What sets me apart is my ability to adapt instruction using a wide range of teaching strategies, grounded in my background in special education and literacy.
