"Hi, I’m Jordan— a certified English teacher with a degree in Marketing and a minor in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Over the past several years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching sixth grade English Language Arts in a diverse classroom setting, where I’ve worked with students of all skill levels, learning styles, and cultural backgrounds. My teaching approach is rooted in literacy, empowerment, and identity—helping students become stronger readers and writers while building confidence in who they are.

My tutoring is culturally affirming, especially for Black students who may not always see themselves represented in the texts they read or the voices they’re encouraged to write with. I specialize in reading comprehension, vocabulary development, written expression, and life skill integration—all with a personal, strengths-based approach. I believe in meeting students where they are, understanding their unique challenges, and using relatable, engaging materials to make literacy both relevant and enjoyable.
