"Hi! I’m Peng, an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Eastern Michigan University and a PhD in Mathematics, specializing in probability and higher-level theoretical mathematics. With more than twelve years of experience teaching both undergraduate and graduate students, I strive to make complex ideas clear, intuitive, and accessible. I enjoy helping students master college-level mathematics, develop confidence with challenging problems, and strengthen their understanding of foundational and advanced concepts in preparation for exams or deeper study.

My teaching and research background spans a wide range of subjects, including introductory probability and statistics, college-level probability theory, differential equations, discrete mathematics and graph theory, real analysis and point-set topology, as well as precalculus, calculus, linear algebra, trigonometry, and GRE-level mathematical problem solving. My teaching style is patient and structured, and I always tailor my explanations to each student’s level and learning style. I place strong emphasis on conceptual understanding and problem-solving strategies rather than rote memorization.

I primarily offer online tutoring, but I am also available for in-person lessons in the Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor area within a short travel radius.
