With 14 years of experience as a classroom teacher, interventionist, and tutor, I bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to helping students succeed. I worked for 6 years as a reading, writing, and math interventionist. I have 7 years in the classroom teaching first grade and 1 year in second grade. I have ran small group instruction in both the classroom and as an interventionist. I have 5 years experience as a reading tutor. I hold a BA in Communications from the University of Oregon and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from USIU San Diego. My expertise lies in providing targeted reading and math intervention support for struggling students, aiming to ignite their love of learning in these fundamental areas while also enhancing their writing skills. I am dedicated to cultivating a supportive and enjoyable learning environment where all students can flourish, especially homeschool students who require a boost in their foundational academic skills. I have extensive training in reading intervention strategies using the University of Florida Literacy Institute, Foundations, and Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling.

My tutoring approach is highly personalized, recognizing that every student has a unique learning style. I take the time to understand individual strengths and areas where additional support is needed through researched based assessments to track progress..I help children learn by making it easy to understand. I break down hard ideas into smaller pieces and give tips to help them feel more sure of themselves. I also use multi-sensory, hands-on strategies and engaging topics of interest for them. My goal is to give them the special help they need to be their best and really get what they're learning.
