"I currently work as a reading specialist grades K-4, I bring over 15 years of experience as a certified NYC elementary teacher and tutor. My expertise lies in reading/writing intervention for K-2, and I have successfully tutored all core subjects up to 8th grade, as well as high school history and English.

With tutoring clients, I:

- Conference with parents, test children, and plan a customized curriculum to the child's learning style and strengths

- Create activities and games to foster independence, organization, love of learning, and critical thinking

- Introduce time management and discipline skills to complete homework, test preparation, and projects

Math—Over the years, I have taught a wide variety of Common Core math with different philosophies, such as Singapore Math, Everyday Math, TERC Investigations, Envisions, and Bridges. This experience allows me to understand your child's school approach and tailor activities, projects, and assignments to meet your child's learning style.

Literacy - I am an avid reader who has taught reading workshops, guided reading, and phonics for many years. I have also been an interventionist in 1st grade and have taken graduate courses in literacy. I am very familiar with children's development through the reading process. I also have many fun games and activities to keep learning phonics and critical thinking skills enjoyable!

Writing—Children show impressive growth in writing under my learning programs. I teach a wide variety of writing skills, from structure to finding a voice as an author, through many different avenues, such as journaling, workshop methods, and test prep.
