"I have a bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech and over twenty years experience working as a civil-servant engineer for the US Navy. My career with the Navy developed my technical expertise in mechanical and aerospace engineering, including modeling/simulation and real-world testing. My level of responsibility increased with experience until I took on the role project lead, a position I held over numerous technology development and analysis projects.

Beginning in 2017 I was promoted to a portfolio manager leadership role that involved management oversight of a number of technology development projects as well as mentoring of younger engineers who lead those projects, occupying the role I had once held myself. I provided my project leads technical guidance and expertise as well as coaching them on working within the federal governmental system to achieve the maximum outcomes.

Additionally, I'm the published author of nine fantasy, science fiction, and horror novels, with more in the works. My novels span three series: Unwilling Souls, Mutagen Deception, and Bell Begrudgingly Solves it. My publishing experience includes both self-publishing and traditional publishing. Together with over half a dozen published short stories, I have written over a million words of published fiction. Suffice it to say I have a great deal of experience in fiction writing and the process of creative writing in general, and I love nothing more than to discuss methods, tips, and how to avoid the pitfalls of writing fiction.

When leading or mentoring, I utilize a positive, even-keeled approach. Mistakes in any learning setting are inevitable, and how those mistakes can be corrected or not repeated going forward is far more constructive than making someone feel bad about them. I love explaining new concepts to people in terms they can understand, and I derive a great deal of satisfaction from seeing the light of comprehension appear in their eyes." less...
