"I was that kid that looked something up in the encyclopedia, then followed a reference to another entry, and another, and another ... it was like falling into a wikihole, only on paper. And as luck would have it, I remembered a lot of what I read. And when you have wide interests that you get excited about, you want to share them.

I've been teaching and tutoring for more than 30 years. My undergrad degree is in electrical engineering (concentrating on Information and Communications Theory); I took a minor in political science to get a break from math in my schedule. My master's program was multidisciplinary, in electrical engineering and history. I've been teaching database theory and administration (including security) to IT professionals since the '90s.

Along the way, I picked up an NREMT certification to serve my community as a volunteer. And because I really love teaching, I joined the faculty of an EMT training program and did my best to teach EMTs that I wouldn't mind showing up at my house to treat me.
