"Hello, my name is Tim. As a third grader, my life was helped by a great tutor who helped me find an interest in school. I understand the value that can come from a little extra help. I hope to guide students and fill in their gaps of knowledge so they can tackle problems that have troubled them in the past as well as spark curiosity in STEM subjects.

I graduated from Tennessee Tech University with cum laude honors in 2009. I then worked for a few years in the engineering industry while completing my Master's degree (2014). Working in the industry was very beneficial, but I wanted more of a challenge, so I decided to pursue my doctorate abroad in England (studying lightning damage in carbon fiber composite materials). I have tutored for the past 5 years mostly in math based curriculum. Currently, I work at a university working on analyzing, manufacturing, and designing carbon fiber composites.

I find it most enjoyable to help students through fundamental math, physics, and engineering (statics, mechanics of material) courses, but do feel free to discuss advanced engineering topics in which I am familiar including digital image correlation (using images to study to deformation of solids), finite element analysis, Groebner basis, plate theory, lightning, and composite materials.
