"3+ years of experience as a Statics teaching assistant at Virginia Tech, including running office hours and supporting students from the beginning of the course through final exam prep, across many semesters. Sessions focus on the core topics in Mechanical Engineering Statics: free-body diagrams; x-, y-, and z-component setup; equilibrium of particles and rigid bodies (forces and moments); distributed loads and equivalent resultants; trusses (method of joints / method of sections); frames and machines; friction; internal forces; shear and bending moment diagrams; and, when included in your course, centroids and area moments of inertia. The goal is to understand the “why” behind each step and to build a repeatable method you can use on exams.

Sessions are structured around your needs and the concepts you struggle with most. Confidence comes from solving many problems, so time is spent practicing with guidance, checking work carefully, and addressing common mistakes.
