"Hello! My name is Eden and I’m a recent graduate of Northwestern University - class of 2021. I majored in Human Development and Psychological Services and minored in Art Theory and Practice. Since graduating, I worked in a legal clinic at a non-profit for a year, and have recently been looking to try out something new. I would love to assist with tutoring in a way that is supportive, meets the student where they are, and elicits consistent growth.
I took advantage of teaching and tutoring opportunities throughout my high school and college years. In high school, I led weekly services for children under age 5, and in college, I worked for a year as an assistant teacher in my local Synagogue’s Sunday school third-grade class; we covered topics having to do with Judaism and the Hebrew language. I took Hebrew classes myself from Kindergarten through 8th grade, and for two years in college. Additionally, for a third of my junior year in college, I worked full-time at Evanston Township High School in their Academic Intervention Team (AIT) and Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) departments. In those two departments, I was able to support students who were getting multiple Ds and Fs with organization, and tutoring in subjects such as Math and English. For about three months in college, I also co-taught a health education class once weekly to freshmen at Lakeview High School in Chicago.
Finally, I began babysitting in middle school, and have worked with children ages 2 months through high school. That often comes with opportunities to help children with school work and organization as well." less...
