"Hello! My name is Electra. I am from Alaska and I love reading, hiking, and paddle boarding. I am an experienced teacher with over 8 years of classroom experience at the middle and high school levels. I teach English, United States History, government, psychology, and various fine arts.

Throughout my career, I have especially enjoyed working with English Language Learners. I love learning about my students cultural and linguistic backgrounds and supporting them in their journey to learn English. I have a Master’s degree in teaching English and Social Studies and I have an additional graduate certificate in teaching English Language Learners.

It’s important to me that my teaching is culturally responsive and that I always meet my students where they are at.I use artful teaching techniques, and critical thinking strategies to support my students’ learning.
