"Hello! My name is David, and I have been an English language and literature teacher for over 20 years. I have helped thousands of students of all ages, from Kindergarten through university-level, to improve their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.

I earned my B.A. in English from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst, and I was an international student at the University of Hull, United Kingdom. I went on to earn my Master of Arts in English Literature from the University of Hull, and I completed all coursework towards a PhD in English from the University of Arizona, where I taught in the Writing Program for four years.

In addition to teaching college students, I have taught children and adults English as a Foreign language in Beijing, China. I have also taught ESL to students from all over the world at several community colleges. I currently am an Adjunct Professor at Rhode Island College.

In 2020, I was awarded the RITELL Outstanding Adult Practitioner award for my “extraordinary contributions to the profession of Adult Education,” and I was a Humanities Scholar for the Lippitt House Museum in 2023.
