"Hello! My name is Maggie, and I earned my MA in English from Claremont Graduate University. I love literature and writing, and my interest in those subjects drives me to assist people who may struggle with them. As such, I've been working as a tutor since 2013, when I first began working through Wyzant.

Learning isn't a one-size-fits-all project, and my students over the years have had a broad range of learning styles and specializations. As a tutor, I'm able to concentrate on matching each student's unique requirements, offering a degree of focus that teachers simply don't have the time to provide, and my experience has taught me how to use a student’s strengths and interests as a foundation for the material that they may find less immediately intuitive. I know what it's like to feel as though you're the only one struggling, and my experience as both tutor and student has motivated me to help people succeed in areas that may not come easily to them.

The bulk of my experience as a tutor is in writing, proofreading, and composition, but my educational background is in literature, and I’m well-versed in major works of American, British, and classical literature, as well as in literary theory and criticism.
