"My career began with teaching all English-related subjects in public and private high schools. This included English, American, and World Literature; grammar; public speaking; journalism; theater; analytical and creative writing. After a successful teaching career, I joined the business world, holding high administrative positions in both the profit and non-profit sectors.

While working full-time, I spent many years tutoring on a volunteer basis for several organizations, including East Harlem Tutorial Services and POSSE. After years in often crowded classrooms, I especially enjoyed the one-on-one relationship as a tutor. I recently gave private assistance to an applicant, successfully assisting her with her application essay for graduate school. I served for many years as an interviewer/evaluator of prospective students to Carnegie Mellon University as a member of their Alumni Admissions Council.

I feel that the wide breadth of my experience, both as a teacher and as a tutor, give me a firm background to continue my tutoring career. My college background (B.A. and M.A. in English) and my professional experience have enhanced my ability to assist students in all English-related subjects.
