"My name is Jessica and I'm excited to begin working with you! As a lover of reading and writing, I chose to study English and received my Bachelor's degree from Eastern Kentucky University in May of 2022 and am currently working towards my Master's degree in English Education from Western Governors University. During my time at EKU, I worked in their writing center, the Noel Studio for Academic Creativity, for nearly 3 years as both a Course-Embedded Consultant and a General Consultant. Since graduating from EKU, I have been a freelance English tutor.

I mainly work with high school, college, and adult students. During my time at the Noel Studio, I worked with college students who were enrolled in first-year writing courses. I was placed directly in first-year writing courses to be a supplemental tutor for students. I gained experience teaching mini-lessons to first-year writing students in a classroom setting as well as meeting with them in one-on-one in-person tutoring sessions to work through each step of the writing process. I eventually branched out at the Noel Studio and became a General Consultant, where I worked with students from any course who needed help with writing, typically with essays. I held one-on-one sessions with these students online via Zoom for the duration of my final semester.

Finally, as a freelance tutor, I work with high school students and above, including college students and adult learners. I work with students who need help with essays, critical reading, general writing assignments, and college application essays. I also have taught an online creative writing seminar for elementary-aged students as well as taught creative writing to students who wish to gain skills in writing fiction, nonfiction, and poetry.
