"Hi, I'm Megan! I'm a graduate student working on my Master of Fine Arts in Writing degree. I have a BA in English, and I maintained a 4.0 GPA as an undergrad. Prior to my two years of freelance tutoring, I spent three years working as a tutor at my university's Writing Center. This involved helping students with all aspects of writing, such as grammar, thesis statements, outlining, development, citations, and more. I understand that tutoring is all about meeting each person's individual goals. What works for one student may not necessarily work for another, and I want to find the style that works for you!

I scored in the upper 90th percentile on the English sections of the TACHS, SAT, and GRE, with 5s on the AP English exams. I was awarded by my university for being the graduating student with the highest GPA in the English department as well as across all of the humanities. I took eighteen English courses as an undergrad, both in literature and creative writing, and received an A in all of them.

I love English, and I love helping other people understand and appreciate the subject. I want to one day become a teacher, and I know how important passion is to the teaching and learning process. Nothing makes me happier than hearing that a student applied the tactics I showed them and got a good grade, made headway in a paper or project, or simply felt more confident in themselves and their work.
