Acacia has lectured at institutions including the Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema, Marymount Manhattan College, and Vassar College. He has served as a judge at the Arlington International Film Festival.
Acacia holds a BA in International Studies from Vassar College with a focus on History and Women & Queer Studies, alongside a Film minor. Acacia also completed the SIT International Honors Program, studying Human Rights in Nepal, Jordan, and Chile.
