"As an illustrator, I have 15 years of experience working in Gaming / Entertainment, Advertising and Publishing as well as 5 years of experience as an Art Director at Scientific American Magazine. My career began as a student at Syracuse University where I received my BFA in Illustration.

Having been on both sides as an Art Director and Illustrator, I have a unique understanding on how to build a strong professional portfolio. My work has been recognized and awarded by several professional institutions including the Society of Illustrators, American Illustration, Society of Publication Designers and Communication Arts.

I have been teaching at various colleges, including the Laguna College of Art and Design, since 2018. My students have largely been high school/college aged or working professionals who are looking to improve as a hobbyist or exploring a career change opportunity into the arts. My approach to teaching involves breaking down complex techniques and concepts into smaller, bite-sized steps so that anyone can learn how to paint and become a more effective visual communicator.

Specialties include portfolio prep, observational drawing and painting techniques, composition, color theory, narrative illustration and Adobe Photoshop. I am a traditionally trained oil painter and can provide feedback and insights on traditional painting, however all tutoring lessons will be conducted by way of Adobe Photoshop.
