"I’m Jonah. I am a currently a student at Bates College majoring in History and minoring in Teacher Education. I was a student in Edgemont Schools and graduated from the Masters School in Dobbs Ferry. I am very familiar with the New York State Social Studies Framework and I am specifically proficient in 7th and 8th grade Social Studies content and curriculum.

I believe that teaching should be an open dialogue, history in particular, and I work with students to build both a comfortable rapport and an engaging academic relationship. My approach to the material varies depending on the grade level and school setting. I try to incorporate a standards-based approach and a more personal and immediate learning style, making the information relevant while also being accessible.

I have experience tutoring students in the Edgemont School District, primarily in the 7th and 8th grades. I have been a student teacher and a teaching assistant for 6th graders in the state of New York and 11th graders in the state of Maine.
