"Hi, I’m Tami! I’m a graduate of Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Science in Communications and have spent over 15 years working in the entertainment industry. I started out as a production assistant on commercials and worked my way up to directing national campaigns, feature films, and episodic television. That journey — from the ground up — gave me a real-world understanding of every stage of production and a deep appreciation for how creativity, collaboration, and leadership come together to tell great stories.

As a working filmmaker, I stay active in the industry, directing projects that keep my perspective current and my skills sharp. I’ve directed four feature films, numerous short films, and episodic television, collaborating with incredible teams and top-tier talent along the way. All of that experience shapes how I teach — practical, honest, and focused on what it really takes to succeed in today’s filmmaking environment.

Through online, one-on-one instruction, I help aspiring filmmakers develop their craft and gain confidence behind the camera. I’ve worked with students at every level — from those just beginning to explore directing to early-career filmmakers refining their storytelling and leadership skills. My teaching style is interactive, supportive, and designed to give you practical tools you can apply immediately. Each session is personalized to your goals and experience level, offering clear feedback and actionable next steps.

Our lessons focus on the craft and execution of directing and production — including visual storytelling, communication with cast and crew, and the creative problem-solving that defines great directing.
