"I have a strong academic foundation that supports my ability to tutor in English and STEM subjects. I am currently pursuing a B.A. in Financial Economics at Columbia University. Before this, I earned an A.A. in Pre-Med/Biochemistry from St. Petersburg College, graduating summa cum laude with a 4.0 GPA. I also studied at Pensacola State College and the State College of Florida, where I was part of the Honors Program and maintained a 4.0 GPA. My coursework in biology, chemistry, and related sciences prepared me to tutor high school–level STEM, while my consistent academic performance in English courses strengthened my ability to tutor reading, writing, and comprehension.
My tutoring and teaching experience combines both volunteer roles and informal support. Since 2021, I have worked with non-native English speakers, including peers and family members, focusing on conversation practice, reading comprehension, and writing. Through the Take Stock in Children and Lunch Pals programs, I mentored high school freshmen and elementary students, providing literacy and study support. I also volunteered with the 3DE STEM Program, where I guided high school students through hands-on science projects. These experiences gave me practice working one-on-one and in small groups with students across grade levels.
My approach is student-centered and adaptable. With younger learners, I use interactive activities to keep lessons engaging, while with older students, I focus on study strategies, confidence-building, and structured practice. I aim not only to strengthen subject knowledge but also to help students develop skills and self-assurance that carry beyond the classroom." less...
