A few years ago I decided it was time to help others who lacked basic English skills to pursue better jobs and opportunities in this country. I earned a TESOL Certificate from the New School in New York City. In the evenings I taught basic grammar, reading and vocabulary at the Fortune Society. Later I taught intermediate and advance classes at the College of Mount Saint Vincent, Institute for Immigrant Concerns. I was also responsible for pronunciation classes.
