"Hello! I'm Alex, a current student at the University of Georgia studying Marine Science.

Throughout high school, I volunteered at my school's tutoring program, working with students ranging from elementary age to my own age group, specializing in Math particularly Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus, both AB and BC, as well as English Language/Literature and Composition.

My AP Calculus, Pre-Calculus, Geometry, and Algebra tutoring focuses on becoming familiar with concepts that will set students up for success beyond their current class--all of math builds upon itself, so understanding fundamentals is key. I want students not just to memorize concepts in the short term, but to use them in any future classes they may take as well.

My English Language tutoring focuses on expanding clarity, detail, and personal voice in writing, applicable to high-school level academic writing as well as college-application essays.

My favorite part about tutoring is really helping students know and thoroughly understand what they're learning--I don't want anything they learn with me to be easy memorization, but rather I enjoy taking the time to get students to get to know their subject, helping them to apply the skills they learn in the long run.

Some of my qualifications are as follows:

I received the highest score of 5 on AP Calculus BC, as well as AB. I have experience helping other students in this subject in particular.

I received a score of 33 on the ACT.

I received a 5 on both AP English Language and English Literature, and often helped others improve on essay writing, reading comprehension, and literary analysis in particular.
