"I am a recent graduate with a BA in English Literature and Creative Writing from Stephen F. Austin State University. Working at the tutoring center of my university, I completed optional training and was recognized as a Master Tutor. I have tutored hundreds of students, including high schoolers, undergraduate students, and graduate students, on everything from scholarship essays to dissertations. Whether you're completely new to writing, need another set of eyes to look over an assignment, or just can't figure out what's wrong with a paragraph, I'm ready and willing to help!
My ultimate goal with any tutoring service is to help clients build knowledge and confidence in their writing. I aim to give clients the tools to develop their own unique voice, as well as to compose, edit, and proofread their writing on their own and without the help of a tutor. If at the end of a session, you feel you no longer need my services, I feel my job is complete!
I am proficient in a wide variety of writing, including scholarship writing, academic writing, creative writing, resume building, and beyond. In 2025, my essay "In Defense of Triviality: Hats, Filigree Baskets, and Female Agency in Northanger Abbey and Sense and Sensibility" won second place in the annual essay contest by the Jane Austen Society of North America. Another essay I wrote was chosen as a finalist with my university's undergraduate research conference, I have had a plethora of short stories published by literary magazines including the Applause Literary Journal and Grim & Gilded, and my undergraduate degree was funded entirely by scholarships. But the best writing isn't the writing that gets awards, it's the writing that accurately and thoughtfully expresses your unique perspective. As a tutor, I can equip you to find that voice and utilize it to its fullest potential." less...
