"Hi, I'm Divya! I graduated Cum Laude from UCLA with a B.A. in English and Psychology, and I’m currently pursuing a Computer Science Master’s at Columbia University. While my academic path has shifted, my passion for language and literature remains constant. I believe writing is one of the most powerful tools for self-expression and critical thinking, and I strive to foster both in every session. I focus on essay writing and love helping students articulate their thoughts with clarity and confidence. Whether we’re analyzing a dense literary passage or crafting a college essay hook, I aim to make the process engaging, empowering, and even fun.
Since 2020, I’ve helped students craft and refine their college and graduate school application essays, guiding them through the process of developing clear, compelling narratives that reflect their unique voices -- I’ve supported many students in gaining confidence and clarity in their writing. My own experience as a student fuels this passion: I graduated with a 4.0 GPA in English from UCLA and was nominated for a university-wide writing scholarship based on one of my essays. In addition to essay editing, I spent a year teaching English reading, writing, and speaking skills to underprivileged elementary and middle school students, which taught me how to adapt to a wide range of learning styles and needs. Whether it’s a personal statement or a persuasive analysis, I aim to make the writing process both accessible and empowering for every student.
I strive to make tutoring a collaborative, supportive experience -- whether you need ongoing help or quick feedback. I’m responsive, flexible, and genuinely excited to help you grow as a writer. Feel free to reach out!" less...
