"I wish I would have known the things that I teach." I have taught at two universities, three community colleges and one liberal arts college. My strategy is to teach strategy, not facts. In my tutoring, I use a researched technique called "Fading." In this technique students are started with solved problems and gradually "faded" into solving problems themselves by removing more and more of the solution. This technique has been reported in several peer-reviewed journals and I have employed it in my classroom teaching as well. Teaching your student the tools to succeed going forward is my goal. In addition to covering material that may be given by their teacher, when applicable we will used demonstrations (especially sports, I love sports) to help gain better understanding of scientific principles.
