"Hi! I'm Jimmy. I graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, and worked for 7 years at top Silicon Valley software companies, including three years at LinkedIn. I now work as a tutor, helping students learn computer science and develop confidence in their own programming abilities. I'm grateful to be doing so - I love teaching, and finding the simplest ways to explain concepts. For computer science especially, I love finding ways for students to really SEE the abstract concepts behind what they are learning.

I have a year of tutoring experience, and have worked with students at all different levels, from those who are just starting out in their programming journeys, to college seniors in advanced algorithms classes, to working professionals looking to break into tech. I have years of industry level experience working in Python, Java, JavaScript, and C++, but can get up to speed in any language that you may need help in. My tutoring approach emphasizes hands-on, interactive sessions. I develop visuals and animations to help understand any abstract concepts that we might be dealing with. We then work with those visuals together to fully understand the material at hand.
