"I am very interested in tutoring and I believe that my education and employment background are appropriate for the position. My most recent experience was that of High School Mathematics Teacher and Chair of Mathematics Department. This position requires that I plan and carry out study programs appropriate to individual needs, create classroom environment conducive to learning and discipline, and make engaging lessons that develop student critical thinking and problem solving skills. I have also worked as an Adjunct Instructor of Mathematics for a Technical College as well as full time professor of Mathematics for a private four year college.

I specialize in tutoring Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II and College Algebra. These are courses that I have both taught and tutor. These courses are the foundation courses and are vital to success in establishing an overall mathematical understanding. For this reason I find it very important that students understand what they are doing and why. Therefore I make engaging lessons that develop student critical thinking and problem solving skills.

It is often stated that the language associated with mathematics is like a foreign language. In order to understand how to manipulate problems one most understand what is being asked. So I place a strong emphasis on vocabulary. We will spend time understanding the language of mathematics in an effort to enhance overall understanding of concepts.
