"Are you or your child struggling to keep up with schoolwork, despite being bright and capable? Do their grades not reflect their true potential? You're not alone. The transition from high school to college, with its heavy emphasis on independent work, time management, and organization, is often where the gaps in a student's executive functioning skills become apparent.
I specialize in helping neurodiverse students—including those with ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and dyslexia—master these essential skills. My goal is to equip them with the tools and strategies they need to not only manage their academic lives but to become confident and independent learners. My calm, patient, and empowering approach focuses on building on a student's strengths and celebrating their unique way of thinking.
My expertise is rooted in a unique blend of personal and professional insights. First, my own journey from an underperforming high school student to a college graduate with honors was made possible by the very methods I teach. These are the same principles that have helped numerous students achieve their academic potential and find the success their parents always knew they had.
I also bring four years of experience from a federal TRiO program at a university. In this role, I empowered low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented students—many of whom have learning differences—to navigate the complexities of college life. My work involved one-on-one academic assistance and career guidance, which taught me the specific academic and social hurdles students face when they leave home for college. I also have personal experience with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) and have actively participated in IEP meetings as a former paraprofessional.
Let's work together to help your child thrive in school and beyond. Message me to learn more." less...
