I graduated from Sam Houston State University, one of the top CJ universities in the nation, with a Master of Science in Criminal Justice, as a member of Alpha Phi Sigma, national Criminal Justice Honor Society, and all my coursework is Ph.D.-level. I also hold a Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies (Occupational Education) from Texas State University, and graduated cum laude from St. Edward's University, majoring in Criminal Justice. I am a licensed police instructor (firearms and classroom), hold a Level III Combined Instructor license (classroom and firearms), through the Texas Commission on Private Security. I am a retired Military Police Brigade Operations and Training NCO/Instructor with the Texas State Guard, and previously served in Air Force Security Police as a Law Enforcement Specialist.

I come from a philosophy of the Courtesy/Ethics/Survival pyramid of criminal justice, law enforcement, and security education, which I developed in 1998. I instill this philosophy in my teaching methodology whenever possible. It is my goal to make you a great all-around practitioner in the field, and prepare you to further your education.
