"Hello! It's Lia. It's nice to meet you! In college, I decided to study what I love: literature, History, and Creative Writing. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Historical Studies and Literature from the University of Texas.

Currently, I am pursuing my graduate degree in Museum Studies at the University of Oklahoma with a focus on educational programming and social cognitive theory (that is just a fancy way of saying: I am deeply curious about the environments that students need to learn and thrive :-). I have also completed course work in journalism, screenwriting, writing for the theatre, and poetry.

I was a high school History and English teacher for three years and a Reading Specialist for 5th graders for one year.

As a tutor, I have worked with students in grades 6th through 12th to help them strengthen their reading comprehension skills, improve their critical thinking skills as a curious reader and writer, and polish their skills as an emerging writer. Essentially, my goal is to help students increase their confidence in the classroom and in life.
