"I am a dedicated and experienced Chemistry and Math tutor who supports the initiative to inspire and sustain the interest of students who pursue science education. I have extensive experience in teaching and tutoring students in general chemistry and math. I have over 10 years of experience teaching general chemistry at Virginia State University (VSU). Additionally, I teach as an adjunct instructor at Brightpoint Community College.

I obtained a Master of Science degree in Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Chemical and Life Science Engineering from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and I am an instructor in the Engineering Department at VSU. I offer students remediation courses in algebra and trigonometry to improve their math skills to the level required for fundamental engineering courses. I am interested in tutoring students in general chemistry, high school chemistry, algebra and trigonometry. I have successfully helped my students to understand challenging chemistry and mathematics concepts by teaching in a practical and straightforward fashion that connects ideas in chemistry and mathematics to things in everyday life. Students tend to grasp concepts better when they can make a connection to real-life experiences.

As your tutor, I will not only impart chemistry knowledge, I will inspire commitment, build competence, and cultivate confidence because these three characteristics are integral to your success. Further, I will help you to improve your study and test-taking skills.

1. Tutoring times: Monday and Wednesday: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm; Tuesday and Thursday: 9:00 am -7:00 pm, Friday: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, and Sunday 10:00 am - 2:00 pm.
